So itslaurenservideo is back up and running….sort of. I am trying to upgrade and I spent a great deal of Saturday switching databases, and trying to work on a self hosting WordPress. It’s a major headache and I am in the process of transferring this domain from its current host, Google, to GoDaddy. Itslaurenservideo.com isn’t working, but itslaurenservideo.wordpress.com is. I plan on having it up and running this week..but who knows. I might end up having to buy a new domain, which means no more itslaurenservideo.com…..NOOOOOOO

In other news, the Jonai Bretheren were on the Today Show the other day. It was the biggest crowd they ever had. I don’t want to hate too much, since I already had a post about that, and also because, well, I liked Hanson. I actually wasn’t too disappointed in humanity that day. That does not mean I like their music though. I want to plug this video by PixieProductions because I think it is ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS and is indicative of what the JoBros act like when they aren’t being filmed.

In other other news, I watched Juno today. One time Jessica Sherry told me this blog reminded her of Diablo Cody and I think I started sweating because I love Diablo Cody and that is a crazy cool compliment. I am still confused as to how she knew this blog existed because she doesn’t have a facebook and I’m almost positive that’s how everybody knows about this place. MYSTERY!!!

i think a lot of people hate me because i don’t like dave matthews band. as evidenced by the crap ton of people who show up to his concerts, he has this loyal band of followers that most struggling artists can’t even dream of having.

it’s not that i don’t like dave matthews- have any of you seen him in because of winn-dixie? because he was good in that role. i personally just don’t enjoy jam band music. what i mostly don’t like are the people (aka young, affluent white girls) who buy tickets just to hang out with friends, text message other people asking “are u @ dave??”, and walk around spac taking pictures.

i’m sure people who actually go to dave FOR THE MUSIC don’t even care, but it bugs me a lot. i know that trying to get tickets to this concert is lucrative, so to me, if some 11th grader from holy names who knows learned the lyrics to ‘crash into me’ just for the concert takes the spot of someone who is a legitimate fan, and i was that legitimate fan who ended up having to go around scalping for a ticket, I WOULD BE angry.

and i don’t even mean to be one of those weird people who gets all like “I LISTENED TO THEM FIRST” and “IM SO SICK OF ALL THESE STUPID LITTLE FANS WHO DON’T EVEN KNOW”. obviously, anybody who enjoys dmb can listen to dmb freely. it just bugs me when people show up to things like this  just for ~the street cred~ and to tell other people ‘omg, dave was SO COOL last year!!’

so every saturday, i go out to breakfast at a diner with my dad (unless of course, he is fishing). sometimes, when we are done and walking to the car, i ask him to take me on a ride. usually we go to crossgates, or a walking trail.

it has always been a little hope of mine that one day after breakfast, when i say “take me on a ride,” he will take me to the city or something. he never does. yesterday i was almost CERTAIN he was going to. so we start driving on i-87. we start passing all the signs that say “new york – 190 miles’ etc, etc. we are driving for over an HOUR and we passed woodstock, which is pretty much the only desirable thing on i-87 besides the city. he keeps teasing me about it as we get closer and closer (since at breakfast i practically cried because the 1 year anniversary of columbia is coming up and i was being nostalgic — will write about this in a separate entry).

finally, he pulls into an exit for newburgh. newburgh is like a smaller version of colonie. i was like….what could POSSIBLY be here? oh, yeah, ORANGE COUNTY CHOPPERS. my dad took me to the orange county choppers hq (yes, THIS occ, aka the “other” show on tlc besides jon and kate plus 8).

so, if you’ve taken the time to watch all :55 seconds of that link, you’ll know that, duh, this place is filled with hardcore people/bikers. so i mean, one might deduce that there would be equally “hardcore” music playing at the store, right? WRONG. i was there about half an hour, and omg, lol it was a good 5 avril lavigne songs before we even reached “my life would suck without you” by kelly clarkson.

just thought i’d share!

this is so weird! i have no homework (other than to study for precalculus, of course). that has not happened once all year.

im becoming kind of emo. i’ve said this before but i know that things are different with facebook, but there are people i probably won’t see for another decade or two…or ever.

it’s just like, okay, so we stay in touch now, our first, second and third year in college. what happens after we graduate? when we go on to grad school, or start our actual careers? when we get married and start to have kids and don’t have time for facebook? i know that my mom doesn’t talk that many people from high school. it’s like…youre taking away 12 years of all these people with whom i have fostered really awesome relationships. i guess it will just take a lot of effort…blargh.

on a less sentimental note, here is a toast to the gazillion grad parties i will be attending this summer!! CHEERS!

289e6as

so in other news, two days left of school! NUTS! but we don’t graduate for another two weeks! BOOO! i came up with a graduation play list (is that sad? probably):

graduation (friends forever) – vitamin c. you totally knew this was coming!! staple for every graduation ever.

in my life – the beatles

it’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday – boyz II men. this song makes me want to cry almost as hard as the main title from the notebook.

finale b – the cast of rent. DEFINITELY download this puppy..love that song!

photograph – nickelback. this came on my shuffle on my ipod the other day and for whatever reason, i sat through it. i suggest it mostly for the lulz, but it’s still a good song.

i will remember you – sarah mclachlan. sad

here’s to the night – eve 6. HERES TO GOODBYEEEE TOMORROWS GONNA COME TOOO SOOOOONNN

these days – chantal kreviazuk. aka the song from the sisterhood of the traveling pants.

don’t stop believing – journey. this is a given

don’t you forget about me – simple minds. the breakfast club song. also, what i wrote in everyones yearbook.

breakway – kelly clarkson. i totally started tearing up to this the other day when i was driving into the sunset. lol

so im watching sophies choice. meryl streep is SO GORGEOUS in this movie. not to mention she sounds like a real pollock.

this movie kind of reminds me of the great gatsby…with the voice-of-reason narrator watching everyone else be absolutely crazy. oh yeah, and stingo (peter macnichol) is SO CUTE. hes hot in that awkward kinda way and i am sort of intrigued

Picture 1

now that he is older, he looks like phil hartman and ron howard had a 50 something year old baby.

also, i think everyone should watch my cousin nico make his debut as ‘the annoying kid’ in this video

so yahoo had this article on it’s front page which really intrigued me. i won’t paste the whole article but here is an excerpt:

A recent study on racial preferences of online daters provides some interesting findings. Based on profile-searching criteria set by singles using Yahoo! Personals, theUCI case study reveals that gender plays an important role in interracial preferences: Asian American men are the least preferred mate for Caucasian women, and African American women bear the brunt of discrimination from Caucasian men.

so not true!! notably hot asians:

so im sitting here working on schoolwork but i have the tv on to hgtv. im watching this show called “for rent”. it’s like house hunters but for people who are, duh, renting.

there’s this couple who just came from living in a TENT. yeah, a tent. like, a tent. this real estate agent is showing them around these apartments in the city. she asked for a checklist of what they wanted and they were like HARDWOOD, STORAGE, A LIVING ROOM, BIG BEDROOMS, BIG BACKYARD and its like…did you forget that under most circumstances, beggars CANNOT be choosers?? i think these people totally mean well, but omg, HAHA, the woman showed them the bathroom and the girl was like “i like big counter space and this is just. a. sink”. you were JUST shitting in the woods 10 minutes ago…really? i don’t understand people sometimes!!
